EmpyreanMedia LLC is based in Chapel Hill, NC and is owned and managed by Stephen L. Garrett.

After 2 years as a conservation volunteer with the Peace Corps in Madagascar, Stephen took an internship with DDC Madagascar. DDC specializes in documentary and narrative films for international development organizations, such as UNICEF. Upon completion of this internship, Stephen moved to Chapel Hill, NC in 2008 to work with DDC’s founder Colby Gottert for the newly formed DDC International. Stephen continues to work in collaboration with DDC International as the Managing Producer and has managed productions across the US and in over 10 countries.

Stephen is a founding member of Cana Collective, a group of documentary wedding photographers and videographers. Additionally, he collaborates frequently with Nathan Clendenin, Inc. on multimedia projects for various clients.

His skills include documentary photography and video, video editing, field production (with a specialty in international development and foreign travel), writing, voiceover work, and acting.

Stephen has a BA in Conservation Studies from The University of the South in Sewanee, TN and appears to talk about himself in the third person.
